How to play HalfEvidence
Learn how to start a free mystery, invite a friend, compare private clues and solve a case together. No download, no timer, and hints when you need them.
Open a mystery
Choose a case below and read your first clue. You start as Detective A. Your partner will receive a different set of evidence as Detective B.
Bring a friend
Create an invitation inside the case and send its six-digit code to your partner. They open Join a game from the menu, enter the code and join as Detective B. The code is valid for 30 minutes; you can generate a new invitation if it expires.
Talk. Compare. Solve.
Compare messages, records and timelines. Propose a deduction, then have both detectives confirm it. New chapters open as you make progress together.

Before you open the case
Is HalfEvidence free?
All released cases are currently free to play. Each case page shows its access and difficulty before you start.
Do we need two devices?
Each detective needs a separate browser session so that the clues stay private. Two phones or computers are the easiest way to play; you can also use separate browser profiles.
Can we play from different places?
Yes. Send your partner the private invitation and talk on your usual voice call, or use the game’s text chat. HalfEvidence does not include built-in voice calling.
Do I need an account or a download?
You can start as a guest in your browser. Save your account in the detective panel if you want to keep access after clearing browser data or changing devices.
Can we pause a case?
Yes. There is no countdown. Return using the same browser session or your saved account. Each detective can keep up to three open sessions of the same story.
Can we play in different languages?
Yes. English and Polish are available for the interface and every released story. Each detective can choose a language without changing the other player’s clues or progress.
What happens if we get stuck?
Compare the evidence with your partner and use the available hints. Wrong attempts and hints do not reduce the XP reward. Both detectives must confirm each deduction.
