The case, without spoilers
Two crimes. Twenty years. One town built on a lie.
Twenty years ago, six people died in a fire at St. Agnes boarding school. The caretaker went to prison. Tonight, the former headmaster was going to reveal why the verdict was wrong. Shortly before his interview, he is found dead beside an old key and an accusation that points back to the fire.
One detective follows the original records, the physical evidence and the people whose lives were changed. The other examines the new murder, document histories and the money behind the old story. Compare what a witness saw with what someone later wrote down. A detail that once seemed settled may change the meaning of both crimes.
The Town That Lied is our hardest investigation: twelve chapters and forty-eight private evidence cards. Allow around 60–90 minutes, with no countdown and the option to pause. Both detectives must agree on the reconstruction of both crimes. Each earns 10 XP the first time you solve the story together.
